Easingwold Cricket Club National Tree Planting Week

In support of National Tree Planting Week 27th Nov – 5th Dec Easingwold Cricket Club hosted a community tree planting event.

Event was a partnership with HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Green Canopy project, The Woodland Trust, Treemendous York, with help from Easingwold Women’s Institute and 30 children from the Community Primary School

A beautiful specimen tree and 120 hedgerow saplings were planted to improve biodiversity, improve the community’s health and wellbeing and help tackle climate change.

The event was presided over by The Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, Mrs Jo Ropner.

Ian Connell, Chairman of Easingwold Cricket Club said "Our contribution may be modest but will contribute to a healthier environment whilst encouraging wildlife to prosper. We want to provide healthier opportunities for all as well as developing a popular community facility."
