Case study – Corporate Cooperation

February 2022

We have recently had quite a lot of enquiries from companies who wish to work with us on woodland creation projects. The company supplies funds for tree purchase and offers employees the opportunity to become volunteer tree planters, whilst Treemendous carries out the procurement of trees and organisation of the planting event.

The first of these projects was carried out with great success and enjoyment on Saturday February 12. EJOT, a company based in Sherburn in Elmet and specialising in Building and Industrial Fasteners and Rings, financed the purchase of 500 trees to be planted on a site arranged by Treemendous on the Campus East, University of York, with the full cooperation of Gordon Eastham, Director of Technology, Estates & Facilities.

A group of some 20 volunteers of all ages, from EJOT and Treemendous, overcame the obstacles of cold wind and stony ground, to plant the trees in under two hours.

This bodes well for the second stage of the operation, on March 12, when we will be planting another 500 trees in an adjacent part of the same site.
