Its the end of an era, Treemendous are to merge with St Nicks transferring our funds and offering our volunteers to work with St Nicks Green Corridors project across the city, connecting habitats and communities for nature recovery. The project works with landowners and land managers to deliver tree and hedge planting, woodland improvement and wood meadow creation projects.
The Treemendous York partnership, a voluntary not-for-profit group supported by City of York Council, was formed in 2011, bringing together organisations and individuals with an interest in tree and hedgerow planting to drive forward a programme of carbon reduction, since then almost 100,000 trees including hedge trees have been planted within Greater York.
We had close links with the Woodland Trust, St Nicks, Trust Conservation Volunteers, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, York Natural Environment Trust, Brunswick Nurseries, both local Universities, Rotary York, Good Gym and many residents' and other community groups.
